Day 19: HaufeCoffee Lands a 1080!?!?!?!

Yeah, in my dreams....

But, regardless of my capability of becoming a pro snowboarder, I had a great time on the slopes today (well, yesterday, but let's just say its still January 31st). I went snowboarding at Liberty Mountain, a tiny mountain near the border of Pennsylvania and Maryland, with my family of skiers (excluding my mother, who finds aimlessly walking around the ski lodge more entertaining than skiing).

The slopes were crowded as hell, and despite a heavy-snowfall over the mid-Atlantic states, only a small percentage of that snowstorm made it to Pennsylvania. There simply wasn't any "powder" to "shred", and, combined with the small number of runs and lack of open space, my snowboarding experience wasn't quite up to standards this time around.

Like I said, I still enjoyed it. After living in South Carolina for two years (you know, where it snows everyday and there are mountains everywhere....) without any access to the slopes, it was nice to get back to any form of Snowboarding. If you live in a place where 70 degrees is considered "winter-storm" like conditions, and where a mountain is considered as the pile of leaves you just raked up, you should seriously consider taking a vacation to the mountain range nearest you. Snowboarding, and even Skiing, are two life-experiences that you just can't pass up....

After an 8-hour snowboarding rampage, my family and I finally departed Freezelvania and headed home to the suburbs of the mid-Atlantic. Of course, our trip wouldn't be complete with another stop at America's finest Irish restaurant: McDonald's. I'm probably not the only one, but don't you hate it when the only cash register available at a fast food place or anywhere happens to be staffed by an idiot? Seriously, this guy had to ask the manager for help about /every/ customer's order. McDonalds, if you're going to open only one cash register for the day, at least staff it with someone who /knows/ what to do. Even if you are short staffed and the homeless guy newbie is the only one available, at least teach him what to do /before/ you open. Jesus Christ, I'm not standing in line for 20 minutes at McDonald's ever again!

So, yesterday I mentioned that I had two kick-ass new songs to share with you guys. Yesterday's musical recommendation was the commemorative "Believe" by Yellowcard. Today's musical recommendation is the more chill-sounding "Brand New Day" by Forty Foot Echo. As the wise Word Nerd once said (as far as I can remember):

"chill melody, meaningful lyrics. nice song."

Enough said :D.

Please excuse me for the delay, I kinda crashed as soon as I got home and didn't feel like blogging. Don't blame me, I'm a teenager. I can choose to do whatever the hell I want :) (within reason of course....)

G'nights....or rather, G'evening Interwebs!!!

  1. when you get a job and need to ask for help because you're new to the food industry, remember this.
